Our company is nowadays contracting several craftsmen
across Sweden for the manufacturing of the furniture.
We are maintaining my father´s ethos using the traditional methods of cabinet making coupled with modern technology.
C R A F T S M A N S H I P
Modern machinery is partly used in the production but the finer details like carvings are made by hand, as on chairs, tables, bed heads, and mirrors, etc.
T I M B E R
Traditionally the type of timber used vary with the different pieces of furniture. Our chairs are mainly made from birch or beech for strength while chests of drawers, sideboards, and cupboards are made from solid pine, free of knots; the drop leaf tables are made from solid birch.
The production method is slightly more complicated for the dining room table tops with inserted leaves.
To avoid any movement in the table tops and inserts we use birch or beech plywood. All table bolts are made from timber.
The chair seat frame is made of timber and the seat is covered in saddle girth and jute, ready to be upholstered with the chosen material of the client,
either synthetic certified safe material or polytex and horsehair. For the Gripsholm furniture we use down cushions.
B E S P O K E F U R N I T U R E
Our aim is always to keep most of the pieces featured on our website in stock in order to minimize long delivery times. We are happy to quote for bespoke pieces of furniture or for non standard measurements.
The furniture is sold in the bare timber state to our retail dealers who in turn have the pieces treated or painted according to the requirements of the customers.
